NexLAN Is Major Sponsor of Kennekuk Kids' Run for Seventh Consecutive Year

May 23, 2006 - Danville, Illinois

NexLAN is proud to announce its seventh consecutive year as the major sponsor of the NexLAN/Kennekuk Kids’ Run.  This year’s event is scheduled for Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. from June 5 through July 24 in Lincoln Park.

Organized by the Kennekuk Road Runners, the NexLAN/Kennekuk Kids’ Run is a free summer program for kids, from toddlers to age 18, held at Lincoln Park in Danville, Illinois.

Last year, over 685 children participated in the event, including runners from seventeen different cities.  The event has grown steadily since it’s inception in 1993, when an average of only 32 runners participated each week.   The 2006 Run is expected to be another record breaking year.

Over the course of seven weeks, each runner who finishes a run will receive a ribbon.  Trophies will be presented to finishers of four or more runs and special acknowledgement for a “perfect season” is given to runners who complete all seven runs.

For more information on the events or to register, please contact Beth Ann Miller at 431-0006.
