Journal cites trio of local businesses

From the Commercial-News, 7 November 2005

DANVILLE - Three area businesses are receiving national recognition for staying on the leading edge of technology.

NexLAN is proud to be one of the three included in “One Size Doesn’t Fit All,” an article in this month’s issue of “Accounting Today,” that details the advantages of open source accounting software.

“One Size Doesn’t Fit All”, by Lisa Spinelli, explores the benefits of this growing industry trend.  The article explains, “Many of the big players in the accounting software market don't offer open source code software solutions today. Rather, they prefer to partner with third-party developers for features and functions that add on to the original package.

"However, open source code software providers and their resellers insist that the demand for customizable systems is growing, despite the small number of players in the market.”

Both EnvirOx, LLC of Danville (http://www.h2orange2.com) and Hubner Seed Co. Inc. of West Lebanon, Ind., (http://www.hubnerseed.com) have enjoyed the benefits of open source accounting software.

In the article, the two companies explain the advantages of implementing AccountMate, an open source code accounting system, and partnering with NexLAN, a nationally-recognized AccountMate Business Partner located in Danville.
