T-1

If your mid-sized company relies on the Internet to conduct business, a T-1 connection should be your first option for Internet access.  A “full T-1” is a dedicated “always on” connection at a maximum speed of 1.544Mb - roughly forty times the speed of the average modem connection.

In addition to the speed, a T-1 provides a reliable, secure, Internet connection for your business, keeping you connected to your customers.

But best of all, your pricing is fixed!  NexLAN installation services include installation/configuration of routers at both ends of the circuit, assignment of IP addresses, and setting up e-mail accounts.

Call or email us for more details, references and pricing.

Maybe a Cable Modem? or DSL?

For a smaller business, a full T-1 may be more than enough bandwidth for your needs (and more than you're willing to pay).  Fortunately, there are several other options to consider before resorting to dial-up.

Cable Modems frequently suffer from bandwidth problems, as the connection to your ISP's office is shared by many other homes and businesses in your local area.  However, as it is more reliable than Wireless and can be a good solution for low-volume requirements where it's geographically available.

Another good alternative for a smaller business is DSL.  NexLAN offers DSL service implemented on a separate high-speed network backed by AT&T/SBC technology.  It is faster than a Cable Modem and more reliable than wireless.

The speed is somewhat dependent on your distance from the SBC/Ameritech central office in Danville and isn't available in all locations, so please contact us for a free evaluation which we perform at no obligation to you without even having to visit your location.

What About Wireless?

If your company's Internet connection isn't critical to your business and you're not located in an area serviceable by DSL, then by all means consider wireless Internet access.

But be aware that wireless solutions are infamous for their intermittent recurring outages and poor performance.  If your business relies on its Internet connection, then wireless access is not for you.
