Webmail Update Tuesday April 29, 2008 at 7:00 pm CDT
Dear ISP Clients:
This Tuesday evening at 7pm CDT we will be upgrading
the webmail interface to our online mail hosting at
http://webmail.nexlan.net to
allow you easier access to
your Challenge Response Queues and to edit entries on your Whitelist and Blacklist.
The outage
is expected to last less than 15 minutes, and during this
small window you will not be able to access the webmail interface.
Operation of desktop e-mail clients, such as Outlook and Outlook
Express, will be unaffected and there will be no loss of incoming
mail.
This upgrade does not require any configuration changes on your
end, but if you have any questions please don't
hesitate to contact us!
Below is documentation on the new webmail look/feel. Please
make sure everyone in your office who uses the webmail interface receives
this information. You may also click
here for a PDF
copy of the document.
Regards,
Kevin E.

Merak Webmail Interface
If you currently use the
Webmail interface you will soon be seeing a different look upon
logging in.
The new interface is packed with
new functionality and ease of use.
The
way you send, reply and delete e-mails is just like you would in
Outlook or Outlook Express.
Some things
have changed in this new version.
For example setting your Auto
Responder, Changing Your Password, viewing your Challenge
Response Queue and viewing/adding/editing/deleting in your
address book has changed.
This document will explain all the
changes in the application.
Below is a print screen
of what the login screen looks like with the new interface.
You can select if you would like
the program to remember your Username, Auto Login, Username and
Password or Always Ask.
We recommend you either use the
Username or Always Ask option.
This will prevent anyone who
accesses your computer from checking your e-mail by logging in
as you.
Your user name and password are the same as they
were in the previous webmail interface.
After you have logged into webmail you will see the below
screen. As you can see
you are now able to view “Filters” and “Quarantine” from the main
screen. If your domain
has not opted into Challenge Response then you will not see the
“Quarantine” option.

FiltersIf you click on the “+” next to the word
“Filters” you will be able to see your blacklist and whitelist.
One of the new features that make the
new Webmail so nice is the ability to see who is on your blacklist
and your whitelist. A
blacklist is a list of e-mail addresses that you are not accepting
e-mail from. A whitelist
is a list of e-mail addresses that you are accepting e-mail from.
For an e-mail address to be on your whitelist you have
already sent an e-mail to the address or the person sending the
e-mail received a challenge response message and responded to it.
Viewing
Challenge Response Queue
To view the messages in your Challenge Response
Queue please click on <Quarantine> and if you have any messages in
your queue you will see something similar to the below screen.

You can take specific
actions on each message.
The actions you can take are the same ones that appear in
your Quarantine Response E-mails each morning.
-
<Deliver> the message will be delivered to your in box
only
- <Whitelist>
the message will be delivered to your in box AND the
e-mail address will be added to your Whitelist.
All further e-mails from this address will go
straight to your in box.
-
<Blacklist> the message will be deleted and the e-mail
address will be added to your blacklist and all future
messages will be rejected
-
<Delete> only deletes the message out of your queue
-
<Search> you can search by sender, subject, owner and/or domain
to find a specific message that might be quarantined
